Your store visitors will have a different experience with Back in Stock Waitlist sign-up units based on if they are:
- A new subscriber on a mobile device
- An existing subscriber on a mobile device
- A new subscriber on a desktop device
- An existing subscriber on a desktop device
New subscriber experience on mobile devices
- Store visitors on mobile devices see and tap the Notify me CTA button when viewing an out-of-stock item on your Shopify store.
- Your Back in Stock Waitlist mobile sign-up unit opens, and visitors are prompted to enter their email address.
- Your SMS terms screen of the sign-up unit opens, and visitors are prompted to tap Remind Me.
- The visitor’s default messaging app opens, with an SMS opt-in message already written.
- Once visitors tap Send, they are subscribed to your marketing text messages and are entered into a welcome journey.
- When the item is replenished in your store, the new subscriber receives a text notification with a link to purchase.
Existing subscriber experience on mobile devices
- Existing subscribers on mobile devices see and can tap the same Notify me CTA button when viewing an out-of-stock item on your Shopify store.
- The subscriber is added to the waitlist for the item, and the copy on the Notify me CTA button changes to "Enrolled in back in stock notifications".
- When the item is replenished in your store, you send the subscriber a text notification with a link to purchase.
New subscriber experience on desktop devices
- Store visitors on desktop devices see and click the Notify me CTA button when viewing an out-of-stock item on your Shopify store.
- Your Back in Stock Waitlist desktop sign-up unit opens, and visitors are prompted to enter their email address.
- Visitors are also prompted to enter their mobile number.
- After both an email address and mobile number are submitted, visitors see a success screen.
- You send a text message to the mobile number they entered, prompting them to reply with “Y” to subscribe to your marketing text messages.
- If they reply “Y”, they are subscribed to your marketing text messages and are entered into a welcome journey.
- When the item is replenished in your store, the new subscriber receives a text notification with a link to purchase.
Existing subscriber experience on desktop devices
- Existing subscribers on desktop devices see and can click the same Notify me CTA button when viewing an out-of-stock item on your Shopify store.
- Your Back in Stock Waitlist sign-up unit opens and shows subscribers the success screen.
- When the item is replenished in your store, the new subscriber receives a text notification with a link to purchase.
