Connect your Attentive account with Talkable, and sync users' data between the platforms to drive personalized journeys and campaigns. With this integration, you can:
- Collect mobile numbers through Talkable to add to your Attentive subscriber list
- Sync all person attributes and custom properties from Talkable to Attentive
- Use custom attributes to create segments for targeted messaging
- Trigger SMS messages for referral rewards and redemptions
Prerequisites
Ensure that you meet the following requirements in order to set up this integration:
- An active Talkable account
Now, complete the following procedure to set up the integration for Talkable and Attentive.
Set up the integration
- Log in to your Talkable account.
- Go to the AppStore page.
- Click Install on the Attentive app.
- When prompted, authorize access to your Attentive account.
Sync sign-ups from Talkable to Attentive
Use Attentive’s Subscribers API to automatically synchronize customer phone numbers and emails from Talkable when customers opt in to receive messages.
Note: Only phone numbers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia are supported.
- Ask your Talkable CM to enable phone fields and add the SMS opt-in checkbox and disclaimer to the referral flow to start collecting customers’ data.
- Obtain your Sign-Up Source ID from your Attentive CSM.
- Go to Sign-up Units in Attentive and find the one your Attentive CSM has just set up for you. It will have an Integration Affiliate Endpoint type.
- Copy its ID.
- In Talkable, enter the Sign-Up Source ID.
- Turn on the Sync email and phone sign ups toggle.
- Click Save.
- Click Send sample payload to verify data transmission.
You should receive a 200 success response. - On the confirmation window, click Got it.
- Turn on the app toggle.
Use reward texts to enhance customer engagement
Enhance engagement, redemptions, and customer retention by sending SMS notifications to subscribers about their referral rewards. Talkable’s dynamic data variables can help you deliver personalized messages to eligible customers. You can also tailor the text experience based on referral roles (i.e., advocates vs. friends).
Note: Reward messages are only sent to those subscribers who’ve affirmed their subscription by responding with a Y
.
- In Talkable, enable rewards in the Attentive app (Site Settings > App Store):
- Turn on the Distribute reward toggle.
- Click Send sample payload.
You should receive a 200 success response. - On the confirmation window, click Got it.
- (Optional) If you need to extend the payload, you can add more payload attributes to get more data:
- Click Show available variables.
The available data variables display. - Copy the needed variable’s value.
- Add the copied value to the payload.
- Name it the way you want.
- Click Save changes.
- Initialize the new variable by clicking Send sample payload.
You should receive a 200 success response with the new data sent. - On the confirmation window, click Got it.
- Click Show available variables.
Use custom attributes to create segments for targeted messaging
After the integration is connected, you can create a dynamic segment in Attentive using the custom attributes from Talkable. The following custom attributes are available for segmentation:
- Phone number
- First Name
- Last Name
- Username
- is_advocate
- IP
- Person custom properties
- Talkable campaign attributes
Use custom events in journeys
After the integration is connected, you can create a custom journey in Attentive using the Distribute Reward custom event from Talkable.
