Configure a conversational campaign to invite subscribers to enter a Two-Way Journey™. This allows you to directly engage with subscribers to learn their preferences, gamify experiences, and answer common questions at scale.
The steps below walk you through the process of creating a Two-Way Journey™, and initiating it with a conversational campaign:
- On the Journeys page, click Create Journey > Start from scratch.
- Click the Texted a keyword trigger, then Get started. A panel appears.
- Below Add keywords to respond to, enter your first keyword. Optionally click + Add keyword to configure additional keywords.
- Similarly to text-to-join keywords, you can only use each keyword one time. For more information, see Best practices: Keywords in journeys.
Note: If you are using a Texted-a-keyword journey, the entrance keyword cannot be used in any "Send auto-reply text message" step in any other Two-Way Journey™.
- Similarly to text-to-join keywords, you can only use each keyword one time. For more information, see Best practices: Keywords in journeys.
- Click Save. Your journey now has a branch for each keyword.
- We recommend placing an Add custom attribute step in each branch to collect custom subscriber attributes.
- In each branch, add a Send message step, and write a unique message. Subscribers will receive this message after they send the associated keyword.
- When you are satisfied with your journey, add an End journey step and then click Turn on to launch your journey.
- Create a text message campaign with Campaign Composer.
- When designing the campaign, incorporate your keywords. The example below uses the keywords 1, 2, and 3 to enter the associated branch in your journey.
When subscribers receive your one-time message, they can reply with a keyword to enter the Two-Way Journey™.
