Set up back-in-stock and back-in-stock opt in (waitlist) journey inventory thresholds

If you use back-in-stock or back-in-stock opt in (waitlist) journeys, you can set up inventory thresholds. Inventory thresholds prevent journeys from being triggered unless a minimum number of units are in stock. This can help make it more likely that products will be in stock when subscribers engage with a back-in-stock message.

Prerequisites

See Create a back-in-stock journey and Back in Stock Waitlist overview for more information about setting up these journeys, including prerequisites.

Set up inventory thresholds for back-in-stock and back-in-stock waitlist journeys

  1. Create or edit a back-in-stock or back-in-stock opt in (waitlist) journey.
  2. In the journey builder, click on the journey trigger (the first step in the journey) to open the trigger settings panel.
  3. In the INVENTORY THRESHOLD section of the trigger settings panel, enter the minimum number of units that must be in stock in order for the journey to be triggered. The default minimum is 1.
  4. Click Save.

Your journey is now set up so that it’s only triggered if a minimum number of units are in stock.

Note: For back-in-stock waitlist journeys, subscribers remain on the waitlist if an item returns to stock below the set inventory threshold. Once the threshold is met, the journey is triggered, and subscribers are then removed from the waitlist once they’ve completed the journey.
