What is it?
Attentive RCS Performance Reporting provides detailed data and insights into your RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging campaigns. These reports allow you to track baseline data, such as clicks and conversions, and compare the performance of RCS messages against standard SMS/MMS messages. You can view performance at both the overall campaign level and the specific journey trigger level.
There are two primary types of RCS reports available:
- RCS Experiment Performance: This compares performance between a 50/50 split of RCS-eligible subscribers (Test vs. Control groups). It is the recommended report for objective program assessment as it minimizes external variables.
- This report will only be useful when you are testing RCS vs SMS performance during onboarding. Once you turn RCS traffic to 100%, you will no longer be able to use this report.
- RCS Overall Performance: This compares the performance of all RCS messages against all other SMS/MMS messages across all carriers.
- Since this report does not compare a control and test group, you should not use this to conclude overall performance of RCS vs SMS. It should just be used for directional insights.
How do I use it?
You can access and generate these reports directly within the Attentive UI.

- Select Generated Reports.
- Search for the desired RCS report (either "Experiment Performance" or "Overall Performance") and click Generate.

Understanding the Report Structure: Each generated report contains five detailed sheets:
- Summary: Provides an overall roll-up of data for RCS test and control groups.
- Campaign Detail: Shows performance by campaign with side-by-side comparisons.
- Journey Detail: Shows performance by journey trigger with side-by-side comparisons.
- Campaign Data: Provides raw performance data for every campaign, split by experiment group and message type.
- Journey Data: Provides raw performance data for every journey message, split by trigger, group, and message type.
Why should I use it?
Using these reports allows you to measure the tangible impact of rich messaging on your marketing strategy.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Objective comparisons between RCS and standard messaging help you understand which formats drive the most engagement.
- Granular Insights: By reviewing metrics like 0-day click conversions, revenue per send, and CTR, you can identify exactly how RCS is contributing to your bottom line.
Optimize Journeys: Detailed journey data helps you determine which specific triggers perform best with rich media or interactive features like suggested replies and carousels.
