Integrating Yotpo Reviews with Attentive allows you to automatically sync review program data to your Attentive account. This enables you to deliver personalized, high-performing customer communications across SMS and email.
The Yotpo Reviews and Attentive integration helps you take action on customer review data. It allows you to:
- Segment your customers based on aggregated review data, such as average star rating or total reviews.
- Trigger journeys using review-related events (e.g., a review is submitted or published).
- Personalize your emails by displaying live product ratings and review counts from Yotpo.
Note: This integration syncs aggregated review data and events, not the raw review content itself.
Before You Begin
To set up this integration, you'll need:
- Login credentials for both your Yotpo and Attentive accounts.
- An active Yotpo Reviews program in your Yotpo account.
How to Set Up the Integration
Complete the following steps to install the Yotpo Reviews app in Attentive:
- In your Attentive account, navigate to the Marketplace.
- Search for the Yotpo Reviews tile.
- Click Install, then Connect.
- You'll be redirected to Yotpo to authorize the connection. Click Connect to give Attentive access to your Yotpo Reviews data.
- Once you see the message, "Your Yotpo Reviews integration was set up successfully," you're all done!
Head to Manage app settings > Overview to view all the use cases that are enabled by the integration.
Using Yotpo Reviews Data in Attentive
Once the integration is set up, Yotpo data is automatically synced to your Attentive account. This includes two types of information:
- Events: These are webhook events that trigger a communication flow.
- Customer attributes: These are properties specific to a customer, like the number of reviews they've submitted or their average product rating.
Note: The initial sync backfills all eligible historical subscribers. It may take a few hours for the initial backfill to complete.
You can use this data to create powerful Segments and Journeys.
Segments
You can create dynamic segments using Yotpo Reviews attributes to target specific audiences, like subscribers who recently left a positive review.
- In Attentive, go to Segments from the left-hand sidebar.
- Click Create segment, then select Dynamic segment.
- Choose a relevant Yotpo attribute, such as Total Reviews or Last Star Rating, to define your audience.
Journeys
To build automated communication flows in Attentive using Yotpo Reviews data:
- In Attentive, go to Journeys from the left-hand sidebar.
- Click Create journeys, then select Start from scratch.
- Use the All apps dropdown to find and select a Yotpo Reviews trigger event, such as Review Completed.
You can then build out your journey. For example, you can send a thank you SMS after a 5-star review or trigger a support journey after a 1-star review.
The following events can be used to trigger journeys:
- Yotpo - Review Completed: A review was submitted by a customer.
- Yotpo - Review Published: A review was approved and published on your website.
- Yotpo - Review Unpublished: A review was rejected or removed.
- Yotpo - Review Escalated: A review was flagged for moderation and will not be auto-published.
Displaying Product Ratings & Review Counts in Attentive Emails
You can also personalize your emails with live product ratings and review counts from Yotpo. This works for both Campaigns (one-time or recurring emails) and automated Journeys.

Create or open an email.
- Campaigns: Navigate to Campaigns > Create campaign > Email campaign.
- Journeys: Go to Journeys > Create journey. Add a new Email node or edit an existing one.
- Open the email builder and select a template.
- Add product blocks. In the content builder, drag and drop one of the following: Product Catalog, Product Recs, or Dynamic Products (only available in some journeys).

Enable product ratings. When you select products that have Yotpo data, a Product Rating option will appear under Product details.
- This option will not be available if Yotpo reviews are not available for the selected product.

Choose a display style. You can display ratings in three formats:
- Number of stars
- Number of stars + average rating
- Number of stars + total number of reviews
