The Attentive + Malomo integration lets you use real-time order and shipping events from your eCommerce store to send personalized text and email updates through Attentive. You can trigger journeys based on shipping status and include live tracking details in your messages to keep customers informed and engaged.
Prerequisites
- You’ve set up the Shopify integration in Malomo.
- You've set up the Attentive integration in Malomo.
- You’ve built a Malomo tracking page.
- You're capturing transactional opt-ins (typically at checkout) in order to send transactional messages.
Install integration in Attentive
Follow these steps to install the Malomo integration in Attentive.
- Log in to Attentive and go to Marketplace.
- Find and click on the “Malomo” tile.
- Click Install.
- Follow the onscreen guidance to authorize Malomo for Attentive.
You can now begin creating custom journeys in Attentive that use Malomo events as triggers and include Malomo data in text and email messages.
Create a journey using Malomo events as triggers
Follow these steps to create a custom journey to send order notifications triggered by Malomo events:
- In Attentive, go to Journeys.
- Click + Create journey, then select Start from scratch.
- In the Choose a journey trigger step, open the All apps dropdown and select Malomo.
- Choose a Malomo event to trigger the journey.
- Click Get started.
- Add journey steps as needed, for example:
- Send text message or Send email steps
- Wait steps or branches
- Customize each message using Malomo data, like a dynamic link to the Malomo tracking page, tracking number, estimated delivery date, etc.
- When you're done building the journey, click Turn on.

Add Malomo data to your journey email and text messages
You can use Malomo variables in journey email and text messages to show dynamic shipping info, order details, and more. Follow these steps to add a Malomo variable to a message:
- Add a variable to your email or text message.
- From the Variable dropdown, select Triggering event.
- Search for or scroll to the desired Malomo variable. See Malomo Variables Available in Attentive for a list of available variables, including the dynamic link to the Malomo Tracking page, tracking number, estimated delivery date, and more.
- (Optional) Add a default/fallback value.
- Click Insert.
