Octane AI is a marketing platform that lets you increase conversion rates by collecting zero-party data (data your customers choose to give you) with its Quiz and Conversational Pop-ups, which personalize the shopping experience at every stage of your customer's journey–website, email, ads, SMS, and Facebook Messenger.
With the Attentive + Octane AI integration, you can:
- Grow your marketing list
- Use custom attributes to create segments for targeted messaging
- Use a custom event in journeys
Prerequisites
Ensure that you meet the following requirements in order to set up this integration:
- You must have an Octane AI account
- Install here: https://apps.shopify.com/octane-ai-quiz-personalization
Now, complete the following procedure to set up the integration for Octane AI and Attentive.
Set up the integration
- In Octane AI, go to the Integrations page.
- Next to Attentive, click Connect; then click Ok in the opening dialog.
You’re redirected to Attentive. - Click Authorize.
You’re redirected back to Octane. - Click ok on (or just close) the informative dialog.
- Back on the Octane Integrations page, click Actions > Setup.
- Enter your Attentive Sign-up Source ID.
- Click Save.
Grow your marketing list
When a customer takes the Octane AI quiz and fills in their phone number in an opt-in question, we automatically send that customer profile to Attentive.
Note: Be sure to include the legal disclosure language in the opt-in question.
Use custom attributes to create segments for targeted messaging
After the integration is connected, you can create a dynamic segment in Attentive using the custom attributes from Octane AI.
When someone takes your quiz, their contact information, source, answers, and results page name are automatically sent to Attentive as custom attributes.
The following table lists the custom attributes available for segmentation:
| Custom attribute | Description |
| Octane list: People with email | You’ll see one custom attribute per customer list you have on Octane. The value is member or not member. |
| Octane: What is your main goal? | You’ll see one custom attribute per question you have in your quiz. The value of the attribute is the answer. |
| Octane source | Attribute that contains the source of the user (e.g., quiz, welcome pop-up) |
| Octane: Quiz results - $quiz_name | You’ll see a single custom attribute whose key contains the quiz name. The value is the title of the results page seen by the user. |
Use custom events in journeys
After the integration is connected, you can create a custom journey in Attentive using a custom event from Octane AI.
With this data, you can create journeys that suit your specific needs, such as sending a text to a customer who finished a quiz that includes their quiz results URL.
The following custom event is available for the journey:
