The Bite + Attentive integration allows you to collect marketing opt-ins and phone numbers from guests ordering from Bite kiosks at your location. This integration helps you grow your SMS subscriber list directly through your kiosk ordering system.

How the Bite + Attentive integration works

When a guest places an order at a Bite kiosk:

  1. The guest is prompted to enter their phone number.
  2. They're shown the marketing consent text with a checkbox.
  3. If the guest checks the box and provides a valid phone number, Bite will automatically send this information to Attentive.
  4. The new subscriber is added to your Attentive account.

If a guest doesn't check the opt-in box, their information won't be sent to Attentive.

Enable the Bite + Attentive integration

To set up the Bite Kiosks integration with Attentive, follow these steps:

    1. Collect the necessary credentials from Attentive:
      • API Key: Follow the instructions to get your Attentive API key.
      • Signup Source ID: Contact your Attentive Customer Success Manager (CSM) and request a new Signup Source ID specifically for the Bite kiosk integration.
    2. Change the marketing consent opt-in text:
      • The default message displayed on the kiosk is: "I want to receive news, updates, discounts, and offers."
        A phone number entry pop-up shows '(650) 289-0000' pre-filled above a numeric keypad, with a checked box to receive updates, and 'Skip' and 'Continue' buttons below.
      • You must change this text to use Attentive’s template legal disclosure: “By checking this box, you agree to receive recurring automated promotional and personalized marketing text messages (e.g. cart reminders) from [YOUR COMPANY] at the cell number used when signing up. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Reply HELP for help and STOP to cancel. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. View Terms & Privacy.
      • You must also ensure that the checkbox is not pre-checked.
    3. Contact Bite Support at support@getbite.com with:
      • Your Attentive API Key
      • Your Signup Source ID
      • Attentive legal disclosure
      • A request to enable the Attentive integration
      • A request to ensure that the checkbox is not pre-checked

Set up a welcome journey

After enabling the integration, consider creating a welcome journey specifically for subscribers who sign up through your kiosks.
