Bluecore

Grow your text marketing list and your email list at the same time using Attentive’s best-in-class sign-up forms. Customers can opt in to both email and text marketing in the same sign-up flow. Our integration ensures that emails automatically sync to Bluecore so that you can start sending marketing emails immediately. This integration also helps you keep your contact data and opt-in status up-to-date.

Postback data

Through this integration, Attentive shares the following data with Bluecore:

  • Email and distinct_id
  • phone
  • sourcecode = Attentive
  • custom fields

The following additional fields are only available if Attentive turns them on for you. Contact your CSM to set this up:

  • not_partner = true
  • subscriber = <subscriber status>

You can optionally configure some of the data shared with Bluecore. See Configure optional settings below for more information.

Prerequisites

You must have a Bluecore account in order to set up this integration.

Collect Bluecore information and send to Attentive

Complete the following steps to set up in the integration::

  1. Contact your Bluecore account representative and ask for the following information for your account:
    • API Key
    • Partner Name
    • Company Token (only required if you want to use the following):
      • Use Track API (optional): When enabled (by default), this sends a postback to Bluecore’s Track endpoint to indicate that a user is double opted-in.
      • Event Name for Track API (optional): The name for events that Attentive sends to Bluecore. By default, Attentive uses customer_patch as the name for events.
  2. Next, log in to your Bluecore account and go to the Campaigns page. Locate the campaign that you want to add the list of contacts to and save the following information:
    • Campaign ID
  3. Provide all the information you've collected above to your Attentive CSM or White Glove team (whiteglove@attentivemobile.com).

Configure optional settings

Sign-up unit list management

This setting allows you to send email addresses collected from a selected sign-up unit to a specific list in Bluecore.

Example: Send email addresses collected from a BFCM-specific sign-up unit to a Bluecore list of email addresses collected during BFCM.

To send email addresses to a specific list in Bluecore:

  1. Go to the Settings tab for the Bluecore integration in the Attentive Marketplace.
  2. Under Optional settings, click Sign-up unit list management.
  3. Click + Add new.
  4. From the dropdown in the List column, select a Bluecore list.
  5. Click the three dots in the Sign-up unit column, then click Edit. The Choose sign-up units window appears.
  6. Check the box for each Attentive sign-up unit from which you want to send email addresses to the selected Bluecore list.
  7. Click Add sign-up unit. The Choose sign-up units window closes.
  8. Click Save changes.

Now, when visitors enter their email addresses into one of the sign-up units you selected, their email addresses will be added to the Bluecore list you selected.

Sign-up unit source management

This setting allows you to send sourcecode data associated with a sign-up unit to Bluecore. The default is attentive.

Example: Send sourcecode=attentive_bfcm for email addresses collected from a BFCM-specific sign-up unit.

To change the value of the sourcecode property:

  1. Go to the Settings tab for the Bluecore integration in the Attentive Marketplace.
  2. Under Optional settings, click Sign-up unit source management.
  3. Click + Add new.
  4. Enter a value in the field under the Source column (e.g, attentive_bfcm).
  5. Click the three dots in the Sign-up unit column, then click Edit. The Choose sign-up units window appears.
  6. Check the box for each Attentive sign-up unit you want to associate with the new Source value.
  7. Click Add sign-up unit. The Choose sign-up units window closes.
  8. Click Save changes.

Now, when subscribers sign up through one of the associated sign-up units, your chosen Source value will be sent to Bluecore.

Sync additional email data to Bluecore

This setting allows you to send additional data that can be used in Bluecore to personalize individual email content (e.g., coupon/offer codes).

Example: Subscribers are assigned a unique offer code when they opt in to receive marketing emails and SMS from Attentive. You can send subscribers’ unique offer codes so they can be included in personalized emails you send from Bluecore.

To send additional Attentive email data to Bluecore:

  1. Go to the Settings tab for the Bluecore integration in the Attentive Marketplace.
  2. Under Optional settings, click Sync additional email data to Bluecore.
  3. Check Add additional properties, then click + Add additional property. The Add property window opens.
  4. In the Add property window:
    1. Enter the Bluecore property name. This should match the name of a custom property you’ve already set up in Bluecore.
    2. Enter the Attentive value. You can enter freeform text or you can click { } to see a list of available Attentive values from which you can copy & paste.
    3. Click Submit.
  5. Click Save changes.

Now, when subscribers sign up through an Attentive sign-up unit, Attentive sends this additional data to Bluecore along with the default postback data.

Sync additional customer data to Bluecore

This setting allows you to send additional data that can be used in Bluecore to segment and send targeted campaigns to Bluecore subscribers, (e.g., product preferences, birthdates, or other data you capture using custom attributes).

Example: Your Attentive sign-up units use a custom attribute to ask what kinds of products subscribers are interested in (mens_shoes, womens_shoes, kids_shoes). You can send this custom attribute data to SFMC so that you can use it to create targeted segments or campaigns based on product interest.

To send additional Attentive subscriber data to Bluecore:

  1. Go to the Settings tab for the Bluecore integration in the Attentive Marketplace.
  2. Under Optional settings, click Sync additional customer data to Bluecore.
  3. Check Add additional properties, then click + Add additional property. The Add property window opens.
  4. In the Add property window:
    • Enter the Bluecore property name. This should match the name of a property in Bluecore.
    • Enter the Attentive value. You can enter freeform text or you can click { } to see a list of available Attentive values from which you can copy & paste.
    • Click Submit.
  5. Click Save changes.

Now, when subscribers sign up through an Attentive sign-up unit, Attentive sends this additional data to Bluecore along with the default postback data.
