With this integration, you can:

Prerequisites
Before getting started, make sure you have:
- An active Para account on the Growth plan or higher. Not a customer yet? Schedule a demo to get started.
- An active Attentive account.
- Admin-level permissions in both platforms.
Now, complete the following procedure to set up the integration for Para and Attentive.
Set up the integration
Follow the steps below to set up the integration.
- Log in to Para. Go to https://app.usepara.com and sign in to your Para account.
- Go to Attentive Integration. From the Para dashboard, go to Settings > Channels, then select Attentive.
- Connect your Attentive account. Click Connect to begin the authorization process. You'll be redirected to Attentive.
- Authorize Para in Attentive. In Attentive, click Authorize to grant permission. Once complete, you'll be redirected to Para. Para requests access to your Attentive Account with the following permissions:
- Read and write permissions to the Attributes API.
- Read-only permissions to the Subscribers API.
- Send transactional messages using the Messages API.
- View information about your Attentive account.
Note: By authorizing, you instruct Attentive to share data with Para. Attentive recommends reviewing Para's privacy policy and terms. Attentive isn’t responsible for Para's actions regarding the processed data.
Send campaigns through your Attentive number
After setup, you can send audio campaigns built in Para through your Attentive-managed toll-free or short code number. This ensures messages come from a familiar, trusted source—reinforcing brand continuity and deliverability.
- Create the voice campaign in Para. Use the standard campaign flow to build your message: choose a script, voice, personalization variables, and targeting criteria.
- Define your target audience. Send to all subscribers, upload a CSV list, or use a synced integration segment.
- Schedule or launch the campaign. Set a send time or launch immediately. Para will send the MMS voice message using your Attentive number.
- Monitor performance in Para. Listens, clicks, and conversions are automatically tracked in your Para dashboard.
Trigger voice messages inside Attentive Journeys
You can personalize and automate voice messaging inside your Attentive journeys using custom attributes passed between platforms. This allows you to trigger Para voice campaigns based on subscriber behavior or characteristics. You can also run A/B tests to measure impact.
- Identify the journey and trigger. Decide where the voice message belongs within the customer flow.
- Add a custom attribute step in Attentive. In your selected journey, insert a Custom Attribute step at the desired moment.
- Fill in the attribute details in Attentive:
- Attribute Category: Para.
- Attribute Option: Add a descriptive name (e.g., New Customer - Eric).
- Create the voice campaign in Para. Use the automation flow to build your message: script, voice, personalization, and trigger.
- Select Attentive as the trigger event. In the campaign setup, choose Attentive as the trigger method.
- Paste the custom attribute. Enter the exact Attribute Category and Option from Attentive to match the trigger logic.
- Activate both in Para and Attentive. Turn on the Para campaign and the Attentive Journey to go live.
- Monitor performance in Para. Para captures clicks and conversions for every triggered voice note.
