You can set up sign-up units to appear when shoppers add the first item to their cart on your Shopify store. These sign-up units can appear in addition to others, like those that welcome shoppers on your homepage and bubbles that appear throughout your site.
Displaying sign-up units when shoppers add the first item to their cart is a great way to capture potential subscribers likely to make purchases from your brand.

Set a sign-up unit to appear when a shopper adds the first item to their cart
Follow these steps to set up a sign-up unit to appear when a shopper adds the first item to their cart:
- Create or edit a sign-up unit.
- Go to the Bubble.
- Click Edit design.
- Click the X to Remove the bubble.
- In the popup, click Remove bubble.
- Click Save changes.
- Click Edit next to Display rules.
- Click Edit.
- Choose on add to cart from the Timing dropdown.
- Choose Every session and Every pageview under Sessions & pageviews.
- Click Update.
- Finish designing the sign-up unit, then click Schedule and activate.
The sign-up unit is now set up to appear the first time a subscriber adds an item to their cart.
Note: Notify your Attentive CSM when you've scheduled the sign-up unit. They'll set up an A/B test to track the number of additional subscribers who opt in after seeing the sign-up unit when adding the first item to their cart.
