Sign-up units are dynamic forms that appear on your website where customers can enter their information to subscribe to your email and/or text messaging program. On the Attentive platform, you can create, design, and manage your sign-up units, which integrate seamlessly with your site to help you convert site visitors to email and/or text messaging subscribers.
Attentive sign-up units offer:
- Subscriber list growth: Convert visitors into email or text messaging subscribers.
- Features to enable compliance: Attentive’s standard templates are designed with legal and carrier compliance in mind
- Customization flexibility: Adapt and customize Attentive templates to match your brand’s styles and to look great on both mobile and desktop devices.
Create and manage your sign-up units
Go to Sign-up Units to create and manage your Attentive sign-up units.
Here, you can:
- Create and design new sign-up units using Attentive templates for mobile and desktop, as well as create landing pages
- Manage existing sign-up units, including copying and scheduling
- Monitor list growth

On the Sign-up Units page, you can view key metrics and a dynamic chart that track list growth.
Key metrics above the chart can include:
- Total email marketing subscribers: Total count of email addresses opted in to receive marketing messages.
- Total text marketing subscribers: Total count of phone numbers opted in to receive marketing messages.
- Total text unsubscribes: Total count of phone numbers who opted out of receiving marketing messages.
In the chart, you can switch between the following views:
- New marketing subscribes: Daily count of new email addresses and phone numbers opting in
- Total marketing subscribers: Daily count of total of subscribed email addresses and phone numbers
Hover over a point in the chart to view the counts of new marketing subscribes or total marketing subscribers for that day, broken down by channel.
You can review the Dashboard and use Reports to learn even more about list growth and sign-up unit performance.
Customize your sign-up units
Customize the look and feel of your sign-up units. Depending on the kind of sign-up unit you’re designing, you can add or modify:
- Page styles: Tailor specific elements on each page
- Brand styles: Use your brand’s logo, colors, fonts, and images.
- Bubble: Adjust the desktop/mobile bubble that opens the sign-up unit.
- Email and SMS pages: Customize the look of separate email and SMS capture pages.
- Countdown: Start a countdown to create urgency.
- Success message: Edit the final success message that appears after a successful signup.
- Spin-to-win: Gamify the sign-up experience with a spin-to-win wheel.
- Pre-engagement: Prime potential subscribers by asking them whether they want to receive a discount.
- Social proof: Highlight demand to create urgency
